What is Catalyst Accelerator?
Catalyst Accelerator brings together Catalyst Campus for Technology & Innovation, the Center for Technology, Research & Commercialization (C-TRAC) and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for a collaborative technology accelerator.
Catalyst Campus is designed as a collaborative ecosystem where industry, small business, workforce training, entrepreneurs, start-ups and venture capital intersect with the diverse resources of Southern Colorado create community, spark innovation and stimulate business growth. The mission of Catalyst Campus is to be a leading-edge incubator, accelerator and research and development facility offering small to medium-sized businesses a scalable infrastructure platform that promotes technology advancement and guides technology transfer from the government to the commercial market and vice versa.
The Center for Technology, Research and Commercialization, or C-TRAC, is a non-profit housed at the Catalyst Campus. C-TRAC is leading innovation through their commitment to continuously creating value in new ways. In their efforts to bring technology to their stakeholders, C-TRAC is breaking down the barriers to technology commercialization and supporting emerging companies through the acceleration process. C-TRAC fosters collaboration between government and industry and facilitates access to community resources, funding, commercial mentors and commercialization pathways.
The Small Business Development Center, or SBDC, is a strategic partner that offers business consulting and training to maximize the economic impact of entrepreneurs in Colorado. SBDC provides an extensive network of mentor connections, knowledge of developing a successful business model, marketing strategies and funding opportunities for small businesses. Using their resources, SBDC strives to make small businesses prosper and have the tools for sustainable growth.

What is Catalyst Campus?
Catalyst Campus is a defense industry incubator and small business support campus that promotes technology advancement for the warfighter and the transfer of government technology to the commercial market Catalyst Campus is a regional hub for highly-unique physical assets, such as a privately-funded Space Operations Cybersecurity Center, R&D Collaboratory, and a veteran-focused Microsoft Software and Systems Academy. Located in downtown Colorado Springs, the Catalyst Campus currently spans ~8 acres and boasts 135,000+ square feet of commercial space to include research and development facilities. The vision of Catalyst Campus is to create an economic development ‘cluster’ to expand the aerospace and defense industrial base in Southern Colorado through a collaborative infrastructure platform that supports entrepreneurs and small businesses. This unique, cluster environment stimulates economic growth and accelerates the development of new companies; promotes industry innovators, entrepreneurs, and start-ups; supports business training and workforce development; offers access to an applied research and development laboratory; and provides business development, support services and venture capital investment to accelerate innovation and the commercialization of technologies.
Inaugural Catalyst Accelerator Cohort
The Catalyst Accelerator is partnering with the Air Force Research Lab Space Vehicles Directorate (AFRL/RV) to launch the inaugural accelerator cohort. AFRL Space Vehicles Directorate serves as the Air Force's "Center of Excellence" for space technology research and development. The directorate also leverages commercial, civil and other government resources to stay one step ahead in space and to ensure America's advantage. Through our partnership with AFRL/RV, the Catalyst Accelerator exposes the AFRL team and other government partners to innovative commercial technology developers with solutions that meet the needs for the Warfighter mission.
